The Yale Glee Club is Yale's principal undergraduate mixed choir and oldest musical organization, currently in its 154th season

In recent seasons, the Glee Club won rave reviews in the national press, from The New York Times ("one of the best collegiate singing ensembles, and one of the most adventurous...an exciting, beautifully sung concert at Carnegie Hall") to The Washington Post ("Under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, the sopranos - indeed, all the voices - sang as one voice, with flawless intonation...their treacherous semitones and contrapuntal subtleties became otherwordly, transcendent even").

new music

Since the days of Marshall Bartholomew, the Yale Glee Club has been recognized throughout the world for its new contributions to the choral repertoire.

Today, we keep this tradition alive by sponsoring our annual
Emerging Composers Competition and Fenno Heath Award, by presenting frequent premieres of new music by the world's leading composers, and through the Yale Glee Club Choral Series and Yale Glee Club New Classics Choral Series, sources for exciting new music for mixed chorus.

Our many devoted alumni remain actively enaged with the Glee Club in many ways, attending annual events such as our singing dinner and weekend choral workshops, participating in our alumni organization, the Yale Glee Club Associates, or by performing throughout the world in the Yale Alumni Chorus.

The Yale Glee Club is one of the world's most traveled collegiate choruses.  It has appeared before enthusiastic audiences in every major US city and abroad on six continents.

In recent seasons, the Glee Club has traveled to Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Francisco (for an appearance with Darren Criss from TV's Glee), Florida, Hawaii, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Turkey, China, and Cuba.

Our tour in 2015 will take us to Ghana!  We will also travel to Montreal at the end of our winter break.
